For testing theory I have been trying a few tasks…
“Circuit Training”
This is really a really simple way of checking theory…
You will need: a few different colors of markers and flip charts/ large sheets of paper.
Step 1: Pair up your students to revise/train together
Step 2: Assign a topic to revise or “train for”
Step 3: Put an open ended question at the top of each page.
Step 4: Set a time limit for each station (1 min) and allow students to rotate around the stations (each answer can only be written once!)
Kildare VEC
If you have taken part in either of the Kildare VEC workshops in Kildare Education Centre (28th Feb or 1st March), please take a few minutes to fill out the online evaluation:

Sciencebuddies has an array of fun project ideas from aerodynamics to
zoology.
Steve Spangler’s webiste also has great science demos. We did the
‘Gold Pennies’ with the First Years. It was a great way of explaining
alloys and students went home with gold (brass) and silver cents!
Does anyone have any other sites for project ideas which we can add to
the list?
