Teacher professional development is at the core of the Discover Sensors approach.  The project has developed a range of

Science Teachers in Participating Schools

The Discover Sensors programme of continuous professional development (CPD) is run over three years and introduces teachers to inquiry based teaching and learning using the Discover Sensors framework; the use of sensors and datalogging for investigations; and the use of alternative assessment for learning. The programme is delivered through a combination of hand-on workshops, online tutorials and the online teacher forum. 

Science Teachers in General

If you are currently teaching Junior Cert Science, you can register to get access to our online tutorials and use of the teacher forum.  The forum is a community of practicing junior science teachers who share ideas and resources.  By being registered, you will also get access to our e-learning tutorials which will bring you through using the investigative approach and sensors technology in the classroom.  

Discover Sensors CPD Programme

The Discover Sensors CPD Programme is run over three years and introduces teachers to inquiry based teaching and learning using the Discover Sensors framework; the use of sensors and datalogging for investigations; and the use of alternative assessment for learning.  The assessment work is being carried out in the context of the NCCA Junior Cycle review.
